Introducing Inca, Mayfair’s hottest new restaurant opening.

We were asked to create a brand identity for Inca, a theatrical, Latin American themed show restaurant, the first of its type in Mayfair, that would offer an experiential journey through South America. Boasting unique shows and performances with colourful costumes and colourful dishes to match the venue, Inca provides an extravagant experience for all customers.

Inca is a celebration of light, life and bringing people together through festivities. Inspired by the Inca way of life, we were creatively influenced by Inti (the ancient Sun God), Mama Quilla (The Goddess of the Moon) and the stars – all of which formed part of the Inca pantheon. Instead of focusing on the association with nature, we celebrate the transition between the sun and the moon – from day to night.

We developed the brand territory, an exciting visual identity, a full suite of operating collateral, digital assets and brand guidelines for the brand.

The logotype has a subtle and suggestive connection to our Inca brand narrative through the use of the sun and moon – a clever arrangement of letterforms each created out of circular shapes. The colour palette brings to life the transition from day to night as a sliding scale of colour, with hues that evoke the beauty of a sun setting and the dark energy of the night.

We used textures with natural and earthy tones extracted from the landscape, minerals and environments found in Latin America. These authentic textures help create an ever changing and responsive palette with multiple tones and vibrancy, while our bespoke illustration depict a sun setting with a warm orange glow filling the sky, the sea feels moody using midnight blue to convey a moonlit sky.

We also use the extract elements of our logo – the sun and the moon – to further emphasise the brand throughout the customer journey. A simple gold foil application renders them subtle and sophisticated.
